Graston Technique

Breaking Down Scar Tissue to Relieve Pain and Improve Function

The Graston Technique uses handheld instruments that gently scrape the skin and a specialized form of massage to relieve pain and restore function restricted by scar tissue. It increases blood flow to the affecte area, helping it heal.
A common cause of back and neck pain, a strained muscle can cause scar tissue and fascial restrictions that are uncomfortable and hinder movement. This technique is designed to help the traumatized soft tissue heal. When an athlete or anyone else injures a hamstring or ACL, the Graston Technique, with its stainless-steel instruments and specialized form of massage, may prove helpful in addressing the problem.
