The two sacroiliac joints, right and left, connect the spine and pelvis. Pain starting in these joints can radiate into the buttocks and thigh and even through the lower leg as far as the foot. Among the possible causes of such pain is improper spine movement during activities such as running, stairclimbing, and standing up. Such dysfunction can lead to painful inflammation.
