Schroth Immersion Program
What is the Schroth Immersion Program?
Advanced Care Scoliosis Schroth Immersion program is ideal for those individuals who live out of our area and are unable to attend regular weekly sessions to learn the Schroth method. Our Immersion program is a total of 10 hours over the course of 4 days. This program length/duration can be tailored to meet the individual needs of the patient. The ultimate goal of Immersion is to learn the Schroth method as well as other scoliosis specific exercises and be independent with a specific program that is designed based on the individual’s curve type. Prior to the start of the Immersion program the most recent X-ray CD is required to first analyze the spine and assist with curve classification. Ideally the X-ray CD can be mailed to our office. Upon arriving on the first day a detailed clinical evaluation is performed.
A typical Immersion program is as follows:
Day 1: 2.5 hours
- Clinical Evaluation/Radiological evaluation-explanation of findings
- Education on Scoliosis including history and pathomechanism of the disease.
- Education on the Schroth method including history, evolution, and overall concepts
- Begin basic Schroth concepts such as auto elongation and active self correction techniques based on curve type.
Day 2: 2.5 hours
